El Nino
One of our favorite first-ocean-dive sites: shallow, calm, and clear, with vibrant schools of tropical fish. Ideal after a Discover Scuba session or for certification check-out dives.
El Niño offers ideal conditions for beginner divers or those looking to refresh their skills. Although it's one of the shallowest dive sites in the area at just 6 meters (20 feet), it never fails to impress with its vibrant schools of tropical reef fish and calm, clear waters — perfect for building confidence underwater. This is one of our favorite sites in Punta Cana for a first ocean dive after a Discover Scuba session, for newly certified Open Water divers, and for check-out dives during certification courses. The gentle conditions also make it a relaxed warm-up dive for experienced divers shaking off the rust after time away from the water. Like all of our local sites, it's a short boat ride from our Cabeza de Toro base.
