On our Bayahibe dive trip, you'll begin with a breathtaking reef dive in Punta Cana, where vibrant coral formations are home to a dazzling variety of marine life. Your second dive takes you to the famous Atlantic Princess shipwreck—a thrilling site teeming with color, biodiversity, and history. It’s one of the most exciting wreck dives in the Punta Cana area.
For experienced divers, our Catalina Island excursion offers a deep dive along The Wall, a dramatic drop-off covered in thriving coral and frequented by sea turtles and reef sharks. The second dive takes place at The Aquarium, a shallow reef full of life, where whip and fan corals shelter pufferfish, schools of blue tangs, yellow stingrays, lobsters, moray eels, and countless reef fish species.

Planning Your Dive Trip from Punta Cana
All three of our day trips run with hotel pickup from the Punta Cana and Bávaro resort area at around 7:30 AM. Catalina Island and Saona Island are full-day adventures returning around 6:00 PM, while Bayahibe is a half-day trip that has you back at your resort by about 4:00 PM. A $100 deposit per booking secures your spot, and the balance is paid on the day of the trip.
Which trip is right for you?
Choose Catalina Island for the region's signature dive: The Wall, a spectacular coral drop-off we consider one of the best dive sites in the Dominican Republic, with lunch and drinks included and a beautiful shallow terrace where snorkeling companions can enjoy the reef too. Choose Saona Island if you want the classic Caribbean postcard — a full day combining diving with time on Saona's white-sand beaches, and a snorkeling option for non-divers. Choose Bayahibe if wrecks are your thing: the trip features the legendary St. George — a 73-meter cargo ship resting at 40 meters that requires Advanced Open Water certification — along with reef and wreck sites like the Atlantic Princess that suit all levels.

Dive equipment and professional guides are included on every trip, and non-diving companions are welcome at a reduced price on all three. Bring your certification card (and logbook if you have one), swimwear, a towel, and reef-safe sunscreen. Not certified yet? You can try Discover Scuba Diving on our local reefs first, or complete a PADI certification course with us before your trip — many guests get certified early in their vacation and celebrate with an island trip at the end.

Which dive trip is best for beginners?
Catalina Island and Saona Island both suit newly certified divers — the reefs offer beautiful shallow sections alongside deeper walls. On the Bayahibe trip, sites like the Atlantic Princess wreck (12 m) welcome all levels, but the St. George wreck requires Advanced Open Water certification.
Can non-diving companions join the trips?
Yes. Snorkeling companions pay $100 on the Catalina Island trip and $110 on Saona Island; on Bayahibe, non-diving companions can join the boat for $100. They enjoy the same pickup, boat ride, and island time as divers.
What time do the trips start and end?
Hotel pickup is around 7:30 AM for all three trips. Catalina and Saona are full-day trips returning around 6:00 PM; Bayahibe returns earlier, around 4:00 PM.
Is hotel transport included?
Yes, round-trip transport from hotels in the Punta Cana and Bávaro resort area is included on all three trips.
How do I reserve, and is there a deposit?

What certification do I need for the dive trips?
