The Wall - Catalina
A spectacular drop-off, arguably the best dive site in the DR. A coral-covered wall teeming with life, and the signature dive of our Catalina day trip.
This spectacular drop-off is undoubtedly one of the best dive sites in the Dominican Republic. A gentle slope leads you to the edge of the wall, where the top reef is teeming with marine life. Every square centimeter of the seabed is covered in colorful sponges and hard or soft corals. The terrace depth ranges from 1.5 to 6 meters, offering incredible scenery even in the shallows — snorkeling companions on our Catalina Island trips get a beautiful show of their own while divers work the wall below. The drop-off itself is completely overgrown with coral, and its crevices are home to an abundance of reef creatures. For safety, we limit the maximum depth to 30 meters (100 feet) — even for advanced divers. The Wall is the signature dive of our Catalina Island day trip, and the reason many divers come back for a second visit.
